With just weeks to go before the midseason premiere of Outlander, Starz has released two new posters that hint at what’s to come.

In the main poster, Claire (Caitriona Balfe) is shown pointing a knife at an unknown British soldier while her husband, Jamie (Sam Heughan), stands alongside her, sword drawn.

Fans will note that this poster features Claire and Jamie in an almost identical pose as the original poster for season 1, which premiered Aug. 9 on Starz to huge ratings.

The second poster places the villainous Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies) where Claire’s 1940s husband, Frank, was in the season 1 art. Only Black Jack, whom we last saw brutally assaulting Claire as Jamie burst in to save her, is not reaching out for Claire – he’s under threat of her weapon.

Executive producer Ronald D. Moore said in December that the second half of season 1 will see even more Black Jack drama. His “place in the storyline – both with Claire and with Jamie – will come to a head,” he revealed in a teaser.

But the remaining episodes won’t just be about swashbuckling adventure – there will be romance, too.

“Jamie and Claire’s relationship really blossoms,” Heughan teased.

As the poster says, “The story continues” when Outlander returns to Starz on April 4.
