Litchfield has a new inmate – and she is absolutely stunning.

Ruby Rose stars as Stella Carlin in Orange Is the New Black‘s third season, and her striking looks attract the attention of both Piper (Taylor Schilling) and Alex (Laura Prepon), Elle magazine reported in January.

A relative newcomer to the U.S., the Australian-born Rose, 28, made waves as soon as her casting news broke.

Here are five things you need to know about the inmate who drives a wedge between OITNB‘s star-crossed lovers.

1. She’s Out and Proud

Rose came out as a lesbian when she was just 12 years old. While she has never faced discrimination in the entertainment industry over her sexuality, she told Wear it With Pride, “As a younger person, I definitely felt less at ease with people’s reaction to my sexuality.”

2. She’s Engaged to Roald Dahl’s Granddaughter

Rose and Phoebe Dahl announced their engagement via Instagram last March. Dahl, 26, is a designer with an aesthetic that New York magazine describes as: “Eileen Fisher meets rag & bone: bomber jackets, oversize button-ups, and overalls, in ecofriendly, indigo-dyed linen.”

3. She’s Multitalented

No one-trick pony, Rose started her career as a model in 2002 when she entered a contest held by Australian teen magazine Girlfriend. She came second in their model search, but would go on to pose for Vogue Australia, InStyle, Cosmopolitan and many more. She’s also the face of Maybelline in Australia.

In 2007, Rose scored a gig as a VJ for MTV Australia, which won her an ASTRA award for favorite female personality in 2009.

While she collaborates with fiancée Phoebe on her line, she also created her own capsule collection for Australian label Milk and Honey in 2010.

As if that’s not enough, she’s a singer and DJ, too. In 2012, she released her first single, "Guilty Pleasure," with Gary Go.

OITNB isn’t Rose’s first foray into acting, either; she recently starred alongside Christina Ricci and Australian film legend Jack Thompson in 2013’s Around the Block in addition to writing her own short film (more on that below).

4. She Considers Herself Gender-Fluid

Rose wrote, produced and starred in a gender-bending short film called Break Free last July. It quickly went viral, and as of this writing, has surpassed two million views.

“Whether straight, gay, bi, trans body image and identity can be a struggle for us all,” Rose told News Corp Australia at the time, following the attention she received from the film.

She continued, “I am very gender-fluid and feel more like I wake up every day sort of gender neutral.”

5. She Looks Amazing in Orange
