The group, which came in third on the U.K. edition of The X Factor in 2010 has inked a deal with Nickelodeon. “The rumors are true, our live-action slate does include a development project for @onedirection. Welcome to the family!” the network tweeted last week. The group, made up of Louis Tomlinson, 20; Zayn Malik, 19; Harry Styles, 18; Niall Horan, 18; and Liam Payne, 18, recently toured with Nickelodeon’s boy band/TV stars, Big Time Rush, and will be performing at the Kids’ Choice Awards on March 31. “A year ago we would never have expected any of this stuff that’s happening now,” Styles tells PEOPLE. As for the future, he says, “We just want to keep working hard and making sure we keep on delivering the best we can and having fun and we’ll see what happens.” We’ll also be watching their album “Up All Night,” which was released last week and could hit the No. 1 spot this week.
