With production underway in Los Angeles on FX’s newest anthology series, American Crime Story: The People V. O.J. Simpson, FX released the first set of cast photos exclusively to EW on Friday, giving viewers a glimpse of the cast’s transformation into character for the 2016 drama.
Wearing a suede brown jacket and mock turtleneck, Cuba Gooding Jr., 46, portrays former NFL star O.J. Simpson during his 1994 95 trial for the murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ron Goldman.
Another portrait (above) shows a pensive John Travolta, 61, as defense team litigator Robert Shapiro and David Schwimmer, 48, as defense attorney Robert Kardashian – complete with Kardashian’s signature swath of grey hair.
Also revealed: Sarah Paulson, 40, as head prosecutor Marcia Clark, and Courtney B. Vance, 55, as defense leader Johnnie Cochran, as well as Billy Magnussen as witness Kato Kaelin.
Photographers previously released an on-set photo of Selma Blair, 42, as Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner, and the ladies’ uncanny resemblance was further underlined when they met up on a red carpet earlier this month.
Rounding out the cast, Connie Britton, 48, will take on Jenner friend Faye Resnick, and Jordana Brewster, 35, will play Denise Brown, Nicole Brown Simpson’s sister.
The miniseries, based on Jeffrey Toobin’s best-selling book, is being produced by Glee and American Horror Story creator Ryan Murphy.
