American audiences are finally getting a glimpse of Nicole Kidman as Grace Kelly.
On Monday, Lifetime released a clip from the film – which opened the Cannes Film Festival last year but never reached theaters – and it shows the Australian star in a tense scene opposite Tim Roth, who plays Prince Rainier.
The sneak peek finds Princess Grace arguing with her husband over her desire to reignite her career with an Alfred Hitchcock film.
“I didn’t make you marry me. I didn’t make you come here. What is it that Hollywood can give you that I can’t?” Rainier demands.
“It’s just a movie,” she pleads.
“You were just an actress,” he says dismissively.

The royals’ children – Prince Albert II, Princess Caroline and Princess Stephanie – have denounced Grace of Monaco as historically inaccurate.
“I know they’re upset. I would be too if it were my mother,” Kidman, 47, told Britain’s Daily Mail last May, adding that the flick has “a fairy-tale aspect to it, which is why it isn’t a biopic.”
Grace of Monaco airs May 25 at 9 p.m. ET on Lifetime.
