The historic Nickelodeon episode will air on Wednesday at 5 p.m.

Nickelodeon is sending a message Loud and clear.

The company will introduce a biracial, same-sex couple in an upcoming episode of its animated series Loud House, making it the first show in Nickelodeon history to feature a married, same-sex couple, according to Entertainment Weekly.

The cartoon show focuses on the life of 11-year-old Lincoln Loud who lives with 10 sisters.

In the historic episode, Loud’s friend Clyde McBride heads to his house for a sleepover – with his overprotective dads in tow, according to a clip of the episode uploaded to Twitter.

Wayne Brady and Michael McDonald play McBride’s parents in the upcoming episode, according to Variety.

Many have taken to Twitter to praise Nickelodeon for the progressive move.

“Can we talk about how AWESOME it is that Nickelodeon’s #TheLoudHouse feat. An interracial gay couple? #YesEquality,” one person tweeted.

Another Twitter user wrote: “The Loud House was already our new favourite cartoon and now they’ve gone and done this brilliant thing.”

The episode, titled “Overnight Success” will air on Nickelodeon Wednesday at 5 p.m. ET, according to Variety.
