Nick Jonas has the world at his fingertips these days. He’s starring on two hit TV shows – Kingdom and Scream Queens. He’s got a new album set to release early next year, and he may or may not be dating Kate Hudson. But according to his Kingdom co-star Jonathan Tucker, it’s all par for the course for Nick Jonas.

“I call Nick the ‘boy king,’ and I mean that in a complimentary sense because of the sheer amount of experiences that he has had,” Tucker, 33, told PEOPLE at the Paley Center’s panel for Kingdom in Beverly Hills on Monday night. “At 23 years old, this kid, it’s like he’s ruling England in the 16th century. He’s done it all and he’s seen it all.”

Tucker, who plays Jonas’ older brother Jay on the show, has been in the business since he was a kid as well, starring in films like Sleepers and The Virgin Suicides, so he appreciates Jonas’ attitude even more.

“He’s a very, very good human being who works extraordinarily hard,” added Tucker. “He’s kind and generous to his fans and the people he works with.”

In fact, despite being 10 years his senior, Tucker admits he actually goes to Jonas for life advice.

“One of the great pieces of advice that Nick gave to me was something to the effect of, ‘Don’t hold a grudge because you don’t know who’s holding your next hit,’ ” revealed Tucker. “Nick has recognized that you never know who can collaborate with in a meaningful way.”

So, does playing Jonas’ older brother on TV mean he gets protective of Jonas in real life too?

“How do you not get protective of Nick Jonas? Not just the young women love Nick Jonas. Everybody loves Nicky J,” joked Tucker.

Kingdom airs Wednesdays (9 p.m. ET) on DirecTV.
