Nick Fradiani got quite a surprise this week – and we’re not talking about making it into the Top 3 on American Idol.

The contestant won rave reviews for his performance of Andy Grammer‘s “Back Home” on Wednesday, and on Friday he found out he would be performing with the successful singer-songwriter on next week’s finale, PEOPLE can reveal exclusively.

Fradiani, 29, and Grammer will reprise “Back Home” and also perform Grammer’s latest single “Honey, I’m Good”.

Grammer joins the long list of guest performers – including Steven Tyler, Chris Brown, The Jacksons, New Kids on the Block, Ricky Martin and more – that will hit the stage on Wednesday’s finale of the Fox reality singing competition.

Fradiani and his fellow contestants Clark Beckham, 23, and Jax, 19, will find out who has made it into the Final 2 on Tuesday, May 12 at 8 p.m. ET and the winner of season 14 will be announced Wednesday, May 13 at 8 p.m. ET.
