Former Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Nicholas Brendon is set to appear on Dr. Phil on Aug. 26.

The news about the troubled actor’s upcoming appearance came in a statement on his Facebook page on Tuesday.

“Nick is doing well and sends his love to you all,” the post reads. “If you happen to be in the LA area on Aug. 26, why not go to a Dr. Phil taping and show some support to Nick? Tickets are free.”

Brendon, 44, has had a tough year, which has included a stint in rehab to treat depression, alcoholism and substance abuse issues, as well as multiple run-ins with the law – he was arrested three times this year on charges including public intoxication, grand theft and criminal mischief.

Brendon also split with his wife of five months, Moonda Tee, in February.

Last month the actor sent out a public appeal on Twitter asking for Dr. Drew Pinsky of HLN’s Dr. Drew on Call to give him a call as he battled depression. “Could sure use a pep talk,” he wrote.
