American Idol fans may be a step closer to knowing who the next Jordin Sparks or Carrie Underwood will be.
According to a message board post Monday on IdolForums.com, a fan claims to know which 50 contestants are American Idol‘s top singers next season, which premieres Jan. 15 on Fox.
“I find the contestants through media and word of mouth,” the fan, JoesPlace, writes on his blog about the singers, whose names, ages, hometowns and MySpace pages are listed. MTV.com was the first outlet to report the Idol spoiler story. When asked for comment, a handful of contestants told MTV.com they couldn’t discuss their auditions.
A rep for Fox says the network “has no comment” on the list.
The top 50 contestants, many of whose MySpace pages are viewable on the Internet, include a former Star Search winner and star of ABC’s The One, according to the Web site.
Who’s already eliminated, according to the list? North Carolina’s Ricco Barrino, the 24-year-old brother of previous Idol winner–and four-time Grammy nominee–Fantasia Barrino.
Also, comments on the singers’ MySpace pages are posted from other finalists, including, “I didn’t get to hear you do your original song. It seems to have went well (wink wink). It was cool meeting you.”
On his blog, the fan, JoesPlace, writes, “If you know any of these contestants or can add any info, just email me. You will remain completely anonymous. Nothing will be posted that you don’t want. I would appreciate any hints, spoilers, news or info. No info is too small. Anything is helpful.”
