JoJo Fletcher will be the next woman to embark on the journey to find love in season 12 of ABC’s hit reality dating show, and the exciting news was announced by host Chris Harrison during After the Final Rose, the live after show that followed Monday’s dramatic season finale.

Fletcher, 25, made it to the final two on Ben Higgins‘ season of The Bachelor before she was sent home in a heart-wrenching elimination at the last Rose Ceremony.

The Texas native was a fan favorite from the beginning of Higgins’ season, though her ride wasn’t always smooth sailing: During hometown dates, her relationship with Higgins was tested after she received a letter from her ex and had to deal with her two protective older brothers’ frosty run-in with Higgins when she brought him home.

Despite the bumps in the road, Fletcher and Higgins went on to exchange “I love you’s” during the fantasy suite dates – but in a shocking twist, he also dropped the “L” bomb on finalist Lauren Bushnell.

PEOPLE’s collector’s edition The Bachelor, with new interviews and updates on your favorite contestants, is on sale now in stores and online!

Though he was torn up until the last moment, Higgins ultimately sent Fletcher home and proposed to Bushnell.

Now though, Fletcher will have a second chance at love on the reality romance franchise – three cheers to the next Bachelorette!
