The MTV Movie Awards has officially deemed Star Wars: The Force Awakens the best film in the universe.

The intergalatic blockbuster won movie of the year at the awards show, which aired Sunday evening.

Director J.J. Abrams and Daisy Ridley accepted the night’s big award, after Ridley accepted her prize for best breakthrough performance earlier in the evening.

The duo made an entrance worthy of the biggest movie in the land (and beyond), with audience members waving glow sticks resembling light sabers as the strains of John Williams’ famous score filled the theater.

“Thank you for that welcome,” said Ridley. Thank you MTV, and everyone who voted so, so much.”

“It was an incredible honor to be part of the Star Wars saga,” Abrams added. “And for the film to receive this award voted by you the fans is incredibly gratifying.”
