In her role as Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games, Jennifer Lawrence takes on blood-thirsty mutts and killer bees (not to mention the expert Careers with killer instincts and good looks).

But can she take on the funny ladies of Bridesmaids?

Her bow and arrow won’t help her much when her film goes head-to-head with the ensemble comedy at this year’s MTV Movie Awards, where both The Hunger Games and Bridesmaids are nominated eight times (for movie of the year, best cast and breakthrough performance, among other categories).

Also up for honors in the movie of the year category at the ceremony, which airs June 3 live from Los Angeles’s Gibson Amphitheatre: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 (six nominations), The Help (four nominations) and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 (two nominations).

Once again, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart received a nod for best on-screen kiss, and they’ll compete against Lawrence’s lip lock with Josh Hutcherson. (Also in the best kiss category: The Vow‘s Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams, Harry Potter‘s Rupert Grint and Emma Watson and Crazy, Stupid, Love‘s Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone.
