There’s no bad blood between Mindy Kaling and Taylor Swift – but she wishes there was.

The Why Not Me author really wanted to be in the singer’s star-studded music video.

During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live on Sunday night, host Andy Cohen asked the star whether she’s “team Nicki, team Miley or team Taylor.”

“I’m team Taylor,” she said, and then joked, “I was miffed not to be in ‘Bad Blood,’ and I sometimes lie to people and say that I was in ‘Bad Blood.’ ”

Kaling said a few of her friends were in the clip, while Cohen added that “no one would know” that she was lying about joining the squad‘s ranks.

“I’ve met [Swift] a couple times, she’s very sweet and very talented,” Kaling said. “And that’s the extent of my relationship with her.”

The 36-year-old also weighed in on that shocking VMAs moment between Miley Cyrus and Nicki Minaj.

Cohen asked the star whether she thought the verbal onstage altercation was staged.

“Oh, when it was like the WWF all the sudden?” Kaling said. “I think it seemed kinda real, although Miley’s reaction was so ready, that I was wondering myself. But it did seem very different – like when I used to watch [the VMAs], like Ben Stiller was the host, and REM changed his t-shirt once and you’re like, ‘That was pretty cool.’ This was a much bigger deal.”

The Mindy Project

actress also joked that “if you’re not in a feud, you’re no one.”

While Kaling said she’s not currently involved in any celebrity tiffs, she’s “been trying.”

Cohen’s suggestion? Pick a fight with Nashville star Connie Britton.
