Father-son bonding on and off the screen!

Tuesday’s This Is Us episode, titled “The Trip,” made viewers cry (yet again) when Milo Ventimiglia‘s character Jack took adopted son Randall to a martial arts class where he physically showed life-long commitment to his child by holding him on his back while doing some push-ups.

“Jack, your back was built to carry your son through life,” karate master Ray said to Jack. “Are you willing to hold him up no matter what comes his way?”

“Yes,” Jack responded.

“Show me,” Ray said.

Now prepare to smile: the tear-jerking moment was recreated by the Big Three (minus Kate) and Ventimiglia off-set.

“I got you @sterlingkb1. Always brother. #ThisIsUs,” the Gilmore Girls star captioned a video of himself working out his biceps while carrying Sterling K. Brown on his back.

And if that wasn’t enough, Brown returned the favor by holding up Ventimiglia with his own set of push-ups. Even Justin Hartley, who plays Kevin on the NBC breakout series, joined in on the fun. This is one strong cast!

“@MiloVentimiglia and I got @JustinHartley too. He ain’t heavy, he’s my brother. #ThisIsUs,” Brown tweeted along with video proof.

All that was missing to make it all complete were cheers and cameos from costars Mandy Moore and Chrissy Metz.

Get all your tissues ready as the This Is Us fall finale airs Tuesday at 9 p.m. on NBC.
