Ortega/PR Photos The apartment complex on The CW’s remake of Melrose Place is starting to get new residents. First up? Actress Katie Cassidy, who is also a cast member on CBS’s buzzed-about upcoming murder mystery series, Harper’s Island. The two project’s won’t conflict because Harper‘s will have a new cast next season if the series is renewed. Cassidy, 22, who is the daughter of The Partridge Family‘s David Cassidy, will play a sexy, sassy up-and-coming publicist on the remake. And rumor has it that Mischa Barton has also auditioned for a role on the series’ pilot, but her rep says there’s no official news to share at this time.
