Friday will mark the one-year anniversary of Joan Rivers’ death due to complications from a surgical procedure, and on Tuesday, her daughter, Melissa Rivers, revealed that she has scattered some of her mom’s ashes in a place that holds fond memories for her family.

Melissa told Entertainment Tonight that she scattered some of the comedy legend’s ashes in Wyoming last month. It’s where Joan, Melissa and her son, Cooper, 14, would vacation each year.

“Coop and I took our annual family vacation to Wyoming. [The] first without my mom and scattered some of her ashes there so we can still be together every August as a family.”

Melissa, who stepped into her mom’s role as host of E!’s Fashion Police when it returned to the air on Monday, plans to mark the anniversary of her mom’s death in a very low-key way.

“Everyone expects me to have this big grand plan for the 4th and I am just going to be spending it with my son,” she said. “He is going to go to school, I am going to go to work and come home, light a candle, and have a glass of wine.”

“Cooper and I talk about what would be the best way to honor her legacy,” she added, “and the best way to honor her legacy is to be okay.”
