The Supergirl star echoed comments she made at a March 13 PaleyFest 2016 panel in Los Angeles. “We only have fun working together,” Benoist told PEOPLE. “He’s my person to act with. He’s my favorite scene partner, always.” Jenner, 23, joined the CBS hit to play the handsome Adam Foster, whose unexpected link with Benoist’s character, Kara Zor-El, puts a strain on her relationship with Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart). The couple tied the knot last spring after reportedly getting engaged in July 2013. As for how taking on the role of Supergirl has changed her, Benoist says she’s learned a lot about herself. “On the outside, it hasn’t really changed quite so much. I go to work and I have my day-to-day thing. But I feel like I’ve personally changed,” she told PEOPLE. “This has taught me so much about strength and has made me just discover how strong I can be in certain situations and I realized I can do some pretty hard things.” During the panel, the actress also talked about what it’s like interacting with kids when she’s wearing her superhero costume. “The reactions, I can never anticipate what that feels like,” she said. “I think the common denominator is, most of the children, like the little girls and boys that I’ve met in [the costume], they’re shocked and I think the ‘S’ has an affect on people. After a while, they all break out of their shells. … I’ve been so privileged … to get to know all these amazing kids that are so inspired by the ‘S.’ ” Supergirl airs Mondays (8 p.m. ET) on CBS.
