Meet Married at First Sight's New Cast Members
FYI network's hit social experiment show is back for another season
FYI network’s hit social experiment show (produced by Kinetic Content) – in which total strangers are paired up by a team of experts and meet for the first time at the altar – returns Dec. 1 at 9 p.m. EST.
To tide you over until then, PEOPLE has a first look at the new Atlanta-based cast.
The account executive, 29, is a “serial monogamist” and was just about to pop the question to his last girlfriend when she “picked a fight” and dumped him seemingly out of nowhere. He’s a fan of romantic gestures – think flowers and surprise vacations – and is itching to settle down and start a family with someone “athletic, adventurous and funny.”
A former social worker, Doherty, 30, is now a nanny and a nursing student. Her parents separated when she was young, but she looks up to her mother and stepfather’s marriage. Looking for someone “caring, mature and ambitious,” Doherty is hoping to start a family with her husband once she finishes school.
Bowlus, 31, has a master’s degree in biology and is a compliance specialist who lives a very active life (he hikes, skydives and snowboards). Marrying a stranger isn’t a totally foreign concept for him: his grandparents’ marriage was arranged and he’s hoping to find his soulmate too.
The bank manager, 30, was born into a military family and moved around growing up. Though her parents divorced when she was a teenager, Role’s grandparents have been married for 60 years. Independent and financially stable, she’s hoping her husband is a “man’s man” who will go hunting and fishing with her.
Raised by his paternal grandmother and aunt, the luxury car brand specialist, 27, is “no stranger to receiving attention from women.” A former college basketball player, Russell is ready to settle down and get married to someone “fun, caring, intelligent and athletic.”
Nelson was also born into a military family and hasn’t spoken to her father since her parents divorced when she was in high school. Independent and driven, the corporate events manager, 26, is a writer and enjoys cooking and entertaining at home but also loves to travel.
