Days after the DWTS alum wrote an open letter to fans informing them that new ventures were on the horizon, the longtime Broadway musical announced that he will be joining the show’s final cast. The 30-year-old dancer-singer will join the production as Frankie Valli this fall, the record-breaking, 11-year production announced Tuesday. Set to make his Broadway debut Oct. 18, Ballas, who appeared on 18 seasons of DWTS, will play the lead role until the production closes Jan. 15, 2017. “THRILLED to announce I’ll be playing the final “Frankie Valli” in @JerseyBoysInfo on Broadway starting Oct 18th till Jan 15th. See U there,” Ballas tweeted following the announcement. On Aug. 31, Ballas openly shared his reasoning for not joining the upcoming season of DWTS in a photo posted on social media. “I wanted to hand write this letter to personally thank each and every one of you for the support over the years. I am incredibly moved + grateful for all of your messages over the past 24 hours. I know many of you are concerned + curious. I want to wish my DWTS comrades luck this season. I’ll miss competing + creating outside the box, however I am looking forward to this new chapter + venture that is beginning shortly,” he penned. The letter continued: “I will soon have news for you all on where you can find me. I hope to see you there.” Season 23 of Dancing with the Stars premieres Sept. 12 on ABC.
