Get ready for some sibling rivalry on season 23 of Dancing with the Stars.

After a four-season break from competing as a dance pro on the ABC reality dance competition, Maksim Chmerkovskiy is officially headed back to the ballroom to compete against his younger brother, Valentin.

Maks’ return was announced on Good Morning America Thursday morning.

“The last 12 years of my life had some sort of relationship to the show,” he said. “I just wanted this to continue … the feeling and positivity.”

“We’ve done that before for a bit of time,” Maksim said of competing against his brother. “He’s become the star of the star and that’s not going to change when I come in and do my thing … I’m excited. I never had this … the way everything came together as a pro this season.”

Fans first started speculating that the father-to-be would be returning as a pro when a photo started circulating on social media of the dancer and TV host Amber Rose in what appears to be DWTS costumes.

“Maks and Amber what I thought he was doooooonnne [I guess] I was wrong,” a fan tweeted Wednesday along with a photo of Rose in a purple sequined dress and taking a selfie with Chmerkovskiy in a black suit with black dress shirt.

Maks and Val will be joined on season 23 by fellow pros Witney Carson, Sharna Burgess, Artem Chigvintsev, Lindsay Arnold, Sasha Farber, Allison Holker and Gleb Savchenko, who were revealed to be returning on GMA Tuesday. PEOPLE has also confirmed that Olympian Ryan Lochte will compete on the new season.

Dancing with the Stars is slated to return Sept. 12 on ABC.
