Well, you’re in luck. Lorde explained the intricacies of the process to Jimmy Fallon during Tuesday night’s appearance on The Tonight Show.
Spoiler Alert: It involves Shake Shack and flowers.
Lorde explained that Swift sent her flowers after a performance one night, and the pair met at Shake Shack to further their bond. But what really sealed the deal was a Grammy party when a stranger asked Swift if Lorde (who was hanging out with her) was Swift’s manager, to which Swift immediately answered, “Yes.”
“And all of a sudden, I was Taylor Swift’s manager,” Lorde said. (She also performed that night, about a half-hour later, so it was a good evening for her.)
The pair apparently have gotten so close that Lorde has had to field questions about whether they’re in a relationship.
Hey, batting down questions about whether you’re dating one of the biggest stars in the world? Things could be worse.
Lorde’s “Yellow Flicker Beat” appears in the newest installment of the Hunger Games franchise, Mockingjay: Part 1 – she curated the soundtrack, which also includes Grace Jones, Charli XCX and Ariana Grande.
