Say hello to double the Michael Strahan!

The former NFL star is getting honored with his own wax figure at the famed Madame Tussauds New York. He unveiled it on Live with Kelly and Michael Monday, with he and co-host Kelly Ripa posing with their figures (hers was unveiled in 2011).

PEOPLE has exclusive photos of how the Madame Tussauds team created the figure.

The artisans took more than 250 measurements of Strahan, 44, with 15 artists working four months to create the lifelike likeness. A key part of the figure is the hair, which took the artists almost six weeks to insert 150,000 hairs by hand.

Luckily, all the hard work paid off – with its most important critic giving it a thumbs up.

“It’s a true work of art!” Strahan tells PEOPLE in a statement. “I’m really excited and honored to have a Madame Tussauds figure.”

Fittingly, Strahan’s figure will join Ripa’s figure on a replica of their Kelly and Michael set in Madame Tussauds’ Times Square location.

Live with Kelly and Michael airs weekdays (check local listings).
