Taraji P. Henson's Lip Sync Battle Secret Weapon? Mary J. Blige!
The Empire star brings out a very special guest during her face off with her on-screen husband, Terrence Howard
Don’t mess with Cookie, y’all!
Taraji P. Henson takes her Lip Sync Battles very seriously – so seriously, in fact, that for her performance of Mary J. Blige‘s “Just Fine,” the Empire star brought out Blige herself for a little back-up.
The Empire actress, 44, will have no problem winning over the audience during Thursday’s bout against on-screen ex-husband Terrence Howard thanks to her commitment to Blige-inspired style (a fierce black jumpsuit and short, blonde wig), some passionate ad libs and an appearance by Blige herself, who emerges from backstage while Henson “belts” out the bridge, transforming Henson’s solo into an unforgettable duet.

Even Howard, 46, can’t help but be impressed by the R&B legend’s presence and cheers on Blige, 44, on as she dances with Henson. But earning a standing ovation from her competitor isn’t quite good enough for Henson, who feels the need to intimidate Howard a little further.
“Who you got with you?” Henson taunts her costar. “Who’s rolling with you?”
