Lea Michele has two special new tattoos.

The star, 29, took to Instagram Monday to reveal the fresh ink, also sharing the news with her fans that her grandmother recently died.

In the first Instagram pic she posted, the actress showed the tattoo she got honoring her grandmother: a small cup of coffee on the former Glee star’s ring finger.

“I lost my beautiful grandma this week She wasn’t your typical grandma,” Michele wrote. “She gave me my first cup of coffee when I was 8 years old. She said something inappropriate to every boyfriend I’ve ever had. She never made pie or knit me a sweater. But she was my grandma and I loved her. More than anything I love you Grandma.”

Michele has been vocal about her family’s importance in her life, telling PEOPLE in 2013 that they were to thank for giving her strength following the 2013 death of then-boyfriend Cory Monteith.

On Tuesday, Michele shared a photo of her second new tattoo, this one to honor Monteith: a number five, a nod to the jersey number worn by Finn Hudson, the character Monteith played on Glee from 2009-2013.

“And one more.. for my Quarterback.. #5,” she wrote, adding a heart emoji.
