With her one-year wedding anniversary with William Tell approaching, Lauren Conrad is opening up about the best – and toughest! – parts about being married.

“My favorite thing about being married is knowing that I have a partner in life that I get to do so many wonderful things with,” she wrote in a blog post Tuesday. “Dreaming of the things we will do in 20 years from now is so fun.”

But The Hills alum acknowledges that marriage takes work.

“The hardest is compromise,” she continued. “You always want to be considerate of each other. It’s not just about you anymore.”

The former reality star – who recently banned body-shaming terms from her website – also revealed Tuesday that her biggest pet peeves are “rudeness” and “arrogance.”

Conrad, 29 wed Tell, 35, at a boutique winery in Santa Ynez, California, on Sept. 13, 2014.

The former reality star told PEOPLE in May that her marriage to Tell, a lawyer and musician, has been “pretty wonderful” and made them “officially family.”

“As far as our relationship, we were really committed before so it didn’t change a ton,” the fashion and lifestyle maven said.

But according to Conrad, the happy couple isn’t expecting to start a family anytime soon: “We’re still in the first year of marriage. We’re just enjoying it.”
