After spending a week at Las Vegas’ Sunrise Hospital, Odom was airlifted alongside estranged wife Khlo Kardashian to the California hospital because the reality star felt he would get the best care there, a source tells PEOPLE. “Khloé wants Lamar to get the best medical treatment possible,” the source says. Kardashian, who is still in charge of the former NBA player’s medical decisions (their divorce has yet to be finalized), has been by Odom’s side since he first was found unconscious and unresponsive at a brothel last week. A Cedars-Sinai source tells PEOPLE the hospital is well suited to take care of Odom, who was had cocaines and opiates in his system. “For someone with heart problems, there is really no better cardiology team in the country than the Cedars team,” the source says. “Cedars has put together the best team possible.” Kardashian just spoke out for the first time since Odom slipped into and woke up from a four-day coma. On Tuesday, the star thanked friends and family for sending prayers to the athlete. “I also want to take a moment to thank everyone at Sunrise Hospital, including the amazing doctors and nurses for their kindness and diligent work. Under their amazing care, incredible strides have been made,” she wrote on her website.
