Is dance taking over TV?

There’s already Dancing with the Stars, So You Think You Can Dance, America’s Best Dance Crew, Paula Abdul‘s new show Live to Dance and now, Laurieann Gibson, the choreographer behind Lady Gaga‘s moves in videos and on tour, will star in The Dance Scene.

But Gibson’s show will be different.

The former “Fly Girl” from In Living Color, who has appeared as tough-as-nails choreographer on MTV’s Making the Band and as a judge on Skating with the Stars, won’t be urging viewers to call in and vote for contestants. Instead, the show, which will air on E!, will follow Gibson as she trains dancers and up-and-coming choreographers while they prepare to work with music’s biggest stars, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Like other popular E! shows (Keeping Up with the Kardashians), The Dance Scene, which will premiere April 10, is from Ryan Seacrest‘s production company.

“Dance is at the center of pop culture – today more than ever – and Laurieann is an amazing force accelerating this huge wave of creativity,” Seacrest tells EW. “This series gives audiences an insider’s view of how competitive the dance world is, the talent and ambition that a dancer needs to be successful in the Hollywood scene, and the drama that ensues along the way.”
