Can’t a girl just enjoy Popeye’s chicken in peace?

After a string of eyebrow-raising behavior, Kylie Jenner sparked headlines after seemingly admitting to being high in a Snapchat video.

In the video, shared Wednesday, Jenner munches on a biscuit from the fast food chain while mumbling to someone out of frame. Fans thought the reality star said “I’m high as f—,” but Jenner insists she was just enjoying the food.

In a series of Tweets posted Saturday, the 17-year-old addressed speculation over the video, as well as dispelled rumors of out-of-control behavior.

“I did a Snapchat saying my chicken was “good as f–k” eating Popeye’s for the 1st time and apparently people think I said high as f–k,” Jenner wrote. “I DID NOT say that.”

After responding to fan Tweets of support, she continued, writing “Sorry to disappoint everyone who thinks I’m this wild child. The media is mean & I try not to look at it. So sorry 4 the late statement.”

A close family friend echoes Jenner’s assertion that her lifestyle is often blown out of proportion.

“People think she is wild but she really isn’t as wild as she seems or puts out there,” the source told PEOPLE. “She’s definitely a rebel and does what she wants – hair how she wants, dresses how she wants – but there’s also a certain persona she’s putting out there.”

Jenner also addressed rumors that she no longer attended high school, responding to a Tweet asking if she isn’t finishing school.

“I do school every weekday ? again don’t believe everything you read,” she Tweeted, adding that she graduates in one month.
