There Is Concern for Kylie: Inside Her Headline-Grabbing Behavior from Snapchats to Lip Fillers
PEOPLE has learned that some members of Kylie's family have become concerned about her behavior
To say that Kylie Jenner is not your typical 17-year-old is an underestimation at best.
When Keeping Up with the Kardashians premiered in October 2007, she was just 10 years old. Kylie’s every move since then has been documented by E! cameras and, later, by her own: In a video posted on her Snapchat, she appears to say she’s “high as f—,” according to fans, which has prompted a fair amount of online criticism given her age and position as a role model to style-obsessed teens.
This is the latest in a string of behaviors that, from the outside, might appear to be questionable coming from any teenager. Under the lens of her massive celebrity, however, they’re magnified in front of her 22.7 million Instagram and 9.12 million Twitter followers.
And now, PEOPLE has learned that some members of the Kardashian-Jenner clan are indeed concerned for Kylie.
Kylie’s Relationship with Tyga
In the last year, Kylie has grown increasingly close with rapper Tyga. They have been romantically linked since as far back as September, not long after his breakup from the mother of his child, Blac Chyna, who used to be a good friend of Kim Kardashian West. “DONT BELIEVE THE RUMORS, BEEN FRIENDS WITH THE FAMILY FOREVER,” Tyga, 25, Tweeted not one month following Kylie’s 17th birthday. “WERE ALL JUST FRIENDS.”
Tyga has indeed been friends with the family for some time – he performed at Kendall’s Sweet 16 in November 2011 when Kylie was just 14.
His association with Kylie is what prompted Amber Rose, Kanye West‘s ex and a friend of Blac Chyna, to say on Power 105.1‘s The Breakfast Club that “Tyga should be ashamed of himself … He has a beautiful woman and a baby and left that for a 16-year-old who just turned 17.” (Tyga denied their relationship on the same station one day later, but confirmed it via Instagram one month after that.)

Kylie’s Career as a Model, Lip Injections and Possible Nipple Piercings
Indeed, like the rest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan, Kylie has more than a few wheels spinning. She has her own line of clip-in hair extensions, she’s the ambassador for British-based skincare brand Nip + Fab, and has been found in fashion spreads for DuJour, Teen Vogue and Love, to name a few.
With all of her ventures placing such a heavy emphasis on her physical appearance, Kylie admits to having insecurities. In March, she posted a throwback photo on Instagram, lamenting that she had allegedly gained 15 lbs.
And in an interview with PEOPLE that month, she confessed, “It is a little intimidating to look good all the time. I change my look all the time.”
Insecurities are natural for any teenager – or any human, really – but hers prompted Kylie to seek lip injections, something to which she finally copped on an episode of KUWTK following months of speculation.
As a minor, Kylie would have needed parental permission to enhance her appearance.
Speaking of her appearance, Snapchat seems to be her chosen venue for her most scandalous selfies – and that’s keeping in mind the bikini selfies that’s she’s so fond of posting on Instagram. In April, Kylie hinted that she had gotten her nipples pierced.
With all of this going on, Kylie insisted to PEOPLE back in January that she’s still in school “every day,” adding that she studies at home with a schoolteacher, though she has no plans to pursue further education for the time being. “I want to keep doing what I do now,” she said. “I love fashion … I have a lot of interests I’m pursuing.”
She’s Already Moving Out
Most 17-year-olds would be excited to shop for accessories to fill a college dorm room, but Kylie is currently furnishing a $2.7 million, 4,900-sq.-ft. mansion in Calabasas, California, and plans to move "the second" she turns 18.
Sisters Kim and Khloé have already expressed concern about the responsibility of owning a home at such a young age. “Kim and Khloé have made me aware that it’s a little tough to own a home,” Kylie said on KUWTK. “I really hope I’m not in over my head.”
