Kristin Cavallari Heads to Birthday Lunch with Mother as Family Continues to Mourn Her Brother Michael

Kristin Cavallari is working to enjoy her 29th birthday during an emotional time for her family.

The star shared a photo of her heading to a meal with her mother Judith Eifrig Tuesday, captioning the Instagram post, “Birthday lunch attire with my momma.”

The birthday celebration comes after Cavallari lost her brother Michael, who was found dead Dec. 10. In November, she welcomed Saylor James, and in an Instagram post on New Year’s she reflected on the highs and lows of the last few months.

“Last night was the second time I’ve put makeup on in over 5 weeks and left the house (besides the grocery store and taking Cam to school),” Cavallari, captioned a photo of her with her NFL pro husband Jay Cutler. “2015 brought my sweet, baby girl but it also took my brother’s life. Hoping for no extreme highs and lows this year. Happy new year, everyone.”

Cavallari and Cutler welcomed Saylor just before Thanksgiving, with their daughter joining siblings Jaxon Wyatt, 18 months, and Camden Jack, 3. Michael was reported missing the day after Thanksgiving and was found dead nearly two weeks later in the Salt Wash area in Utah, which is described as having steep and rocky terrain.
