Kim Richards Calls Ailing Ex-Husband Monty Brinson 'The Best Gift of All'

Kim Richards marked her birthday by reconciling with her sister Kyle and spending time with the man who has supported her throughout her struggle with addiction and brushes with the law: ex-husband Monty Brinson.

“Having you here Monty is the best give of all,” Kim captioned an Instagram on Monday night of them embracing. “I love you so much.”

After accepting a plea deal for her April public intoxication arrest last week, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star returned has returned to social media, sharing pictures with family members including Kyle, her daughters Whitney and Brooke and her son Chad as they celebrated her turning 51 on Saturday.

Though her relapse left her estranged from some relatives, Richards has always remained close with Brinson, who is dying of cancer and lived with her while shooting RHOBH last season.

Brinson even defended the former child actress when she was arrested for allegedly trying to shoplift more than $600 worth of goods from a Target in Los Angeles.

“Without going into detail 90 per-cent of what you read is completely false. But for her fans that have stayed with her through this roller coaster will see her very soon at what she’s done best all her life since the age of 4,” he wrote on Instagram. “I’m excited for her. And personally I would like to thank everyone who stood by her through this rough time. Remember everyone in life goes through a rough time one way or another. I always say know the facts before being judgmental.”
