Lifestyle Beauty & Style Kim Kardashian Says She 'Aced' Her Torts Exam as She Works to Become a Lawyer Kim Kardashian West is studying to become a lawyer like her late father, Robert Kardashian Sr. By Natalie Stone Published on April 17, 2019 03:54PM EDT Kim Kardashian West is one step closer to becoming an attorney. One day after the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star told fans that she was studying for her torts exam — one of three subjects that Kardashian West has been learning in her first year of law — the reality star revealed that she got an A on the test. “Aced my test btw,” she tweeted Wednesday alongside three emojis: a balance scale, a pencil and books. Last week, the Kimoji creator, 38, revealed in an interview with Vogue that she is studying to become a lawyer and decided last summer to to begin a four-year apprenticeship with a law firm in San Francisco, with the goal of taking the bar in 2022. Kardashian West has been working with author and CNN commentator Van Jones and attorney Jessica Jackson, cofounders of #cut50, a national bipartisan advocacy group on criminal-justice reform, for months, visiting prisons, petitioning governors, and attending meetings at the White House. Last year, she successfully petitioned President Donald Trump to commute the life sentence of Alice Marie Johnson, a nonviolent drug offender. After Johnson was released, a major bipartisan piece of criminal justice–reform legislation, the FIRST STEP Act, was passed by Congress and signed into law by Trump in December. Simpson during his infamous 1994 murder trial. “On the weekends they used our home as an office, with Johnnie Cochran and Bob Shapiro,” Kardashian West recalled. “My dad had a library, and when you pushed on this wall there was this whole hidden closet room, with all of his O.J. evidence books. On weekends I would always snoop and look through. I was really nosy about the forensics.” Though Kardashian West did attend Pierce College in Los Angeles for some time, she never graduated. According to Vogue, sometime this summer, she will take what is known as the “baby bar” administered by the state; if she passes, she will be given the okay to continue for three more years of study. “First year of law school, you have to cover three subjects: criminal law, torts, and contracts,” she told the magazine. “To me, torts is the most confusing, contracts the most boring, and crim law I can do in my sleep. Took my first test, I got a 100. Super easy for me.” “The reading is what really gets me,” she admitted. “It’s so time-consuming. The concepts I grasp in two seconds.” On Tuesday, she gave her followers a glimpse into her new world of tests and legal terminology. As my first year is almost coming to an end I am preparing for the baby bar, a mini version of the bar, which is required when studying law this way.” “I’ve seen some comments from people who are saying it’s my privilege or my money that got me here, but that’s not the case,” Kardashian West wrote on Instagram. “One person actually said I should ‘stay in my lane.’ I want people to understand that there is nothing that should limit your pursuit of your dreams, and the accomplishment of new goals. You can create your own lanes, just as I am.”
