Money can't buy love – but for Kim and Kanye, it did buy plenty of extravagant ways for you to express that love

Kim's 40th Birthday

What do you get the girl who has everything? A hologram of her late father, apparently. West delivered the hologram to Kim's lavish 40th birthday party on a private island in October 2020, where guests got to watch the virtual recreation of Robert Kardashian Sr. (who died in 2003) tell Kim she's married to "the most, most, most, most, most genius man in the whole world, Kanye West."

Kim tweeted a video of it, writing "Thank you so much Kanye for this memory that will last a lifetime."

Christmas 2019

At the Vanity Fair Oscars 2020 afterparty, the couple showed off some of their extravagant Christmas gifts: outfits and jewelry they gifted to one another. Kanye wore a chain-link necklace Kim gave him, while Kim sported Alexander McQueen's iconic "Oyster Dress," which was called “arguably … the most important dress of the 21st century” by the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute curator Andrew Bolton (and incidentally, the Met has the only other version of the gown ever made in its archives). West purchased it for her from LILY et Cie, a “luxury archive” for fashion based in Beverly Hills.

Christmas 2019

Kim shared a photo of her "thoughtful" gift from her husband: a custom necklace he had made out of a sentimental text message he had previously sent her.

“If you look closely at my necklace, you can see it’s from a text Kanye sent me,” Kim wrote on Instagram, captioning a photo of one of her signature selfies featuring the gift.

The original text read: “This is your life. Married with four kids. Get people out of jail. Cover of Vogue. Go to church every week with your family. Dreams come true.”

Kim explained, “He took an amazing vintage Cartier gold plaque necklace and had it sketched out." She added, “He’s always the most thoughtful when it comes to gifts ✨.”

Kim's 39th Birthday

In addition to gifting Kim some "amazing bags", Kanye donated $1 million to four different prison reform organizations close to Kim's heart (including #cut50, where she is reading the law in an apprenticeship) for her birthday. "This makes my heart so happy!" Kim tweeted.

Kanye gave Kim the ultimate stock-ing stuffer one Christmas when he surprised her with more than $200,000 worth of stock in Apple, Netflix, Adidas, Amazon and Disney.

Valentine's Day 2019

The rapper surprised his ladylove with a serenade from Kenny G — and the Internet just could not handle it.

“Really late [Wednesday] night I got a couple of emails, one from a publicist that knows Kanye’s manager,” Kenny G told Rolling Stone afterward. “He told me that Kanye had requested me to come to the house and serenade Kim in the morning: ‘It’s going to be a room surrounded with roses, and you’re going to stand in the middle of the roses and play.’ I thought, ‘That actually sounds really beautiful.' ”

Kanye's 40th Birthday

“Throwback to that time I surprised Kanye with a trip to Japan for his birthday!” the Keeping Up with the Kardashians star wrote on Instagram, alongside a photo of the rapper. “He had to guess where we were going based on the snacks and magazines I had the plane stocked with!”

Kardashian did not hold back on the goodies, stuffing two large baskets with Japanese candies, doughnuts and multiple bags of Sriracha kettle cooked potato chips. West was all smiles as he overlooked his loot, confirming his wife’s observation that “He was happy!”

Valentine's Day 2017

West may have been busy preparing for his fifth Yeezy Season fashion show, but he still had time to shower his wife with love on V-Day — courtesy of a giant flower wall, made of orchids and roses. Because everyone knows you haven't properly celebrated a holiday unless there's a photo shoot to prove it.

Mother's Day 2016

What better way to serenade his muse than with a private concert, courtesy of the string orchestra that West hired to perform in their living room? And since North made Kim a mama in the first place, Kanye recruited her to help pick out the Frozen-heavy playlist.
