Kim Kardashian West is defending her sisters and mother.

In a new clip released exclusively by E! News for Sunday’s episode of I Am Cait, Kim attempts to mediate her family’s arguments by explaining her sister Khloé Kardashian‘s defensive stance about remarks Caitlyn Jenner made about Kris Jenner, Kim and Khloé’s mom.

“Khloé sees my mom upset and so she gets defensive,” starts Kim before Caitlyn interjects: “And she doesn’t know anything about my side of the story.”

“But that’s what kids do,” explains Kim, 34. “She is going to get defensive.”

Another clip released on Thursday showed Khloé, 31, and Caitlyn, 65, having a tense conversation over remarks Caitlyn made about ex-wife Kris, 59: “We want to support you and be there for you. But we don’t think that entails you speaking negatively about my mom,” said Khloé in the clip.

The comments in question are from Caitlyn’s June Vanity Fair article, in which she publicly announced her transition.

“The Vanity Fair article was very interesting for me to do because it was the first time I ever really had the opportunity to be absolutely truthful with a reporter about my life, about every aspect of my life,” Caitlyn says.

But what upset Kim the most was a remark Caitlyn made about Kris in the VF interview.

“It said, ‘Had Kris been accepting to who I am, we still would be together,'” Kim quotes. “And that’s the most unfair thing in the world to say.”

When Caitlyn says she “doesn’t see it that way,” Kim responds, “You don’t look at it that way, but my mom does.”

Despite the tense clip, all seems to be well between the Kardashian/Jenner ladies these days. The family celebrated youngest daughter Kylie’s 18th birthday in Los Angeles on Sunday, and Kim shared a selfie of her, Kris and Caitlyn from the evening, with the caption: “The parent trap.”

I Am Cait airs Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on E!
