Khloé Kardashian is making sure her ex Lamar Odom will never visit a brothel again.

Odom, 36, was found unconscious at the Love Ranch South in Pahrump, Nevada, on Oct. 13 and spent the next three months in the hospital with Kardashian, 31, by his side for much of his ongoing recovery.

The former NBA star was released from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles last week, and a source told PEOPLE he was planning to move to a live-in rehabilitation center.

During a Wednesday appearance on Howard Stern‘s SiriusXM radio show, Kardashian opened up about Odom’s health scare – and how she made him promise it wouldn’t happen again.

Of what caused his near-fatal overdose, Kardashian said she thinks “it was a mix of things.” (A source close to the family told PEOPLE at the time doctors found “cocaine and opiates” in Odom’s system.)

Stern asked Kardashian if Odom might have overdosed on herbal viagra, which brothel owner Dennis Hof claimed Odom had taken.

“Well, I don’t think that that’s what he overdosed on,” Kardashian said, adding that she thinks Odom took the viagra because “when you’re doing so many other things, you’re a little limp down there.”

As for why Odom chose to visit the brothel in the first place, Kardashian said she didn’t understand, either.

“I’ve asked him that! I said: ‘Listen, you do whatever the f— you want to do, but please promise me you’ll never go back to a disgusting brothel again. And if you want to pay someone, you can pay someone in the privacy of your hotel, like, what are you doing?!’ ” Kardashian told Stern. “And he said – you know, he obviously wasn’t thinking and he promised he won’t go back to a place like that.”

Kardashian also got super candid about Odom’s public cheating scandal and how he was unfaithful to her for “the majority” of their marriage.

According to the reality star, because Odom was so great at making her feel special, she “never speculated cheating.”

“He was so good. Nothing was on his cell phones, he had an assistant and they were all on his assistant’s phones so he was really crafty,” Kardashian recalled. “It’s disgusting, and I was pissed at the assistant. And all these rumors kept coming out in the weeklies, and as much as I know they’re bulls—, where there’s smoke there’s fire. Something has to be right here. But then this one girl did an interview and she was so adamant and when I confronted him, he blamed another teammate. This was when he was playing for the Clippers, his last season.”

Meanwhile, Kardashian said their love life was fine: “I genuinely am blown away at when did he fit that in.”

“Once I found out about all the cheating, I was very worried about STDs. I went and got checked. I’m clean, thank God,” she added. “Now looking back, seeing like why I didn’t get pregnant, you know…when you’re high you don’t have strong swimmers.”

Despite Odom’s infidelity, Kardashian maintained she doesn’t regret their whirlwind romance or marriage. (The couple wed on national TV in September 2009 just one month after meeting. The marriage fell apart after Odom’s cheating and drug relapse, and Kardashian filed for divorce in 2013.)

“I know he loves me, I know we loved each other, I don’t question those feelings, “Kardashian said. “Obviously Lamar does, or did struggle with substance abuse. I do believe there’s a sex addiction…but I also don’t know if I believe in a sex addiction that much.”

“I’m sure people could say [getting married so soon was] a mistake. I wouldn’t change what I did because it was also some of the best times of my life,” she continued. “So for me, I wouldn’t say it’s a mistake, I needed that experience for me and I never felt better at that time, and the love I received was the love I needed to have at that time.”

Kardashian went on to explain that their marriage “was just the most intense relationship I’ve ever had in a great way.”

“I mean, obviously we had phenomenal sex, for sure, but it was also the intensity of our just spirits, as corny as that is, what our conversations were – we would not sleep for like, five days cause we’re talking about everything in our life,” she said. “I don’t think I would do it again, but I don’t regret what I did.”

As for Kardashian, she’s been dating Houston Rockets shooting guard James Harden since summer 2015.

“I actually met James, Kimberly threw Kanye a birthday party at the Staples center, but we rented it out, and she had all of his friends and some athletes were playing basketball, so I met him there,” she explained.

At the end of the day, after all that’s happened between Kardashian and Odom, she has remained a fierce supporter of her ex.

“What he’s done doesn’t make him a bad person, that doesn’t define who is,” she said. “He’s still a phenomenal human being. I know that sounds a little contradictory, but he is. … I don’t hate him, I love him dearly and I will always love him.”

“He’s had a really f—ed up deck of cards dealt to him in his entire life so far. I think as women, or as my type of woman, I think we think that we can fix people, and then sometimes love is not enough,” she admitted. “I can’t love someone into loving me, and as much as I wish I could, it’s not that simple.”
