Khloé Kardashian is a fighter.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star took to Instagram on Sunday to post a poignant message about working through pain and sadness.

“You may have had unfair things happen, but know that the depth of your pain is an indication of the height of your future,” reads the quote that Khloé, 31, shared.

“Everything happens for a reason… Right?! I’m a firm believer of this saying,” she captioned the post. “We may not understand why we have to walk a certain path or why when it rains, it pours but trust that God has a plan. ‘Walk by faith, not by sight.’ ”

“We must lose in order to gain,” she continued. “Lessons are best taught through our darkest hour. Through crying and defeat. Through sorrow and loss. All of my pain or sadness has only built my strength, soul, character and wisdom. One day, all of our trails and tribulations will add up and make perfect sense. Until that day comes, learn to laugh at confusion and dance in the rain. ‘The pain that you have been feeling, can’t compare to the joy that’s coming’ Romans 8:18.”

Khloé’s recent Instagram comes at a tense time for the famous family as they cope with Rob Kardashian‘s romance with Blac Chyna, who has a complicated history with the Kardashian-Jenners.

“She has gone out of her way a million times to help him,” a source told PEOPLE of how Khloé – who has always been her brother’s biggest supporter throughout his struggles with depression and extreme weight gain – is reacting. “She always defended him.”

“[Khloé] was frustrated by his lack of respect,” the source said.

Rob, 28, and Blac Chyna, 27, went public with their relationship two week ago and have been demonstrating plenty of PDA on social media ever since.

“Rob seems really happy with Blac Chyna. He’s really not thinking about what his family thinks, or how everyone else feels,” a source told PEOPLE after news of the relationship broke. “He’s had a really hard couple of years and so if she makes him feel good, that’s all that matters right now.”

But Khloé seems to be at peace with another complex relationship: Kim Kardashian West posted her own Instagram on Sunday of her sister on a walk with estranged husband Lamar Odom, who nearly died in a Nevada brothel in October after overdosing on drugs.
