Khloé Kardashian 'Is Working Hard to Move On and Focus on Herself' on 32nd Birthday: Source
Kardashian admits her birthdays have "been so negative in the past that I'm always like, 'What's going to happen this year?' "
Khloé Kardashian is celebrating the big 3-2 with a “peaceful” new outlook and “seems much happier” as she enters a new year of life, a source tells PEOPLE.
Since filing for divorce from estranged husband Lamar Odom in May, the source says the reality star “has removed herself from Lamar. He is still partying and not taking care of himself as he should. Khloé is working hard to move on and focus on herself.”
The source adds that Kardashian “has been doing very well. She acts less stressed. She is of course hoping to find an amazing guy to start a family with. She really wants kids. Everyone thinks she deserves the best guy.”
The birthday girl echoed those sentiments when she took to her website and app on Monday to reveal exactly what she wants to accomplish in the coming year as well as her take on birthday celebrations.
“I love other people’s birthdays, but to be honest, I get more sad for my birthday,” she wrote. “They’ve been so negative in the past that I’m always like, ‘What’s going to happen this year?’ I had the best birthday last year because it was the first time someone did something for me that I didn’t ask for. It was the first time I felt like I knew what birthdays were supposed to be like. There were only twelve of us, but it was so nice. Look, I’m not all ‘woe is me,’ and I don’t need to do much. But then that’s why we don’t do much. No one takes charge.”
Kardashian may not be big on celebrations, but she does have one big birthday wish – one you can’t get in stores.
“My wish for myself this year is internal happiness. I’m big on peace and happiness, and that’s all I want,” she said. “The rest will come. I think as I’ve gotten older, I feel more secure and settled with who I am, but at the same time, I’m more open to changing myself for the better. I’m not as stubborn as I was when I was younger.”
Yet, that doesn’t mean Kardashian can’t splurge a bit on herself on her big day.
“I bought myself a nice watch! I would normally never spend a ton on watches, but it was a tough year for me, so I don’t give a f— right now!” she wrote.
That rough year included re-initiating divorce proceedings from Odom, 36. The pair wed in 2009, just one month after meeting, but she filed for divorce in December 2013 after the former NBA star relapsed with his substance abuse problems and cheated. She called off their protracted divorce following Odom’s near-fatal overdose at a Nevada brothel last October, but after months of trying to get him back on track, Kardashian decided to file for a second time.

As for narrowing down the big “high point” of the last year, that’s easy – vacationing!
“The high point was going to Cuba with my family,” the reality star admitted. “Cuba was great. It also felt amazing that my book launched.”
One thing is for sure: Don’t think Kardashian is skipping her daily workout just because it’s her birthday – there’s cake to be eaten!
“I worked out on my birthday last year, so I probably will this year, too,” she said. “That way I can eat and drink and not feel so gross. I LIKE to workout so it doesn’t feel like I need to skip it.”
