Selena Gomez is a Gladiator. Kerry Washington is a Selenator. All is right in the world of entertainment.

The stars complimented each other’s work Tuesday on Twitter, creating a seminal celebrity-on-celebrity fangirl moment.

Washington, 37, started the love fest by Tweeting her appreciation for “Heart Wants What It Wants,” the Justin Bieber-inspired single Gomez tearfully performed at the American Music Awards in November.

And Gomez, 22, Tweeted about Scandal in return, proving she’s worthy of wearing the white hat.

This isn’t the first time the singer has professed her admiration for ABC’s soapy political drama – or its leading lady.

“#oliviapopestyle,” Gomez captioned an Instagram reminiscent of the D.C. fixer in October. The photo showed off the sleek and sexy Chanel and Tom Ford ensemble she rocked during a Jimmy Kimmel Live! appearance.

Gomez joins legions of A-list Scandal fans, from first lady Michelle Obama (“I have to tell you, life in Washington is a little more boring than displayed on the screen,” her husband admitted to Ellen DeGeneres in August) to Mariah Carey, Paula Abdul, Mary J. Blige, Naomi Campbell, Retta and Jessica Simpson.

We’d love to see Gomez and Washington cozy up for a red wine and popcorn viewing party once the show returns from hiatus Jan. 29. In the meantime, the Rudderless actress has one question to answer: Team Jake or Team Fitz?
