Kendall Jenner Turns 20: See Her Family's Sweet Messages – and an Adorable Letter She Wrote to Her Future Self
When she was 14, Kendall Jenner said her "goal in life is to become a big time model"
Kendall Jenner turned 20 on Tuesday and gifted us with perhaps the most adorable throwback of all time: a letter she wrote to her future self when she was 14.
“Dear Me, I am on my Freshman Retreat right now and it is really boring. But I met new people so I guess that’s good!” she wrote. “I am modeling right now and I LOVE it! I am also on a show called Keeping Up with the Kardashians and we are filming season 5. Soon we will begin filming season 6. My goal in life is to become a big time model and travel to really amazing places. I really hope it happens! =)”
Jenner’s letter goes on to say that “as of now all is well” and she is “loving life!!”
“I’m 14 years old, just thought I would say that. LOL. Oh and I’m really excited to read this in the future! Haha and I’m excited to drive!” she concluded.
It’s safe to say young Kendall’s dreams have come true, as she is now a full-fledged, successful supermodel.
“I thought this was a good day to post this sweet note I wrote to myself in high school,” Kendall wrote on her website on Tuesday. “I’m sooo grateful my dreams have come true, but I also know I was the one to make them happen! Anything is possible!”
Kendall also posted a list of 20 things she’s shooting for in the next decade, which includes landing the cover of American Vogue, photographing a spread of her own in a magazine, decorating the house of her dreams (complete with a Go Greek Yogurt machine), being as self-confident as her younger sister Kylie Jenner and marrying her Baron von Trapp, since her favorite movie is The Sound of Music.
Her famous family members also took to their websites to celebrate their sister with some sweet messages.
“Kendall. My ride or die. My supermodel sister. I love you so much! Happy 20th birthday!” wrote Kylie, 18.
Sister Khloé Kardashian, 31, wrote: “To someone who touches each life she enters, spreading smiles to everyone you meet: may the love and gentleness you show upon the world return to you ten fold. I Love you to the moon and back, Ken! I’m so beyond proud of what you’ve accomplished with your career and your spirit. I can’t wait to celebrate you today. You inspire me! Happy birthday, my sister!!! I adore you!!!”
“Happy birthday, Kendall!!!” gushed Kim Kardashian West, 35, on her website. “I can’t believe you’re 20 today. You have already accomplished so much! I am so proud of you and am amazed by your supermodel career. Have the best day ever!
Kris Jenner posted a side-by-side comparison of her daughter dressed in purple gowns as a little girl and while walking a runway more recently.
“I have had the blessing of watching you grow into the most amazing young woman and I cherish every memory we have had so many adventures but the very best one is watching you achieve the things you ve always dreamed of,” the momager wrote.
Meanwhile, Caitlyn Jenner shared an Instagram of the model grinning and missing her front tooth as a child.
“Can’t believe my toothless little girl is so beautiful and 20 years old. Daddy loves you!” she wrote.
Jenner celebrated the big 2-0 by wearing a super-sexy plunging jumpsuit at a private bash at Los Angeles hot spot The Nice Guy on Monday night alongside her family and celeb pals including Gigi Hadid, Justin Bieber and Nick Jonas.
Kim also shared her own photobooth picture with the birthday girl on Instagram, writing: “Happy Birthday to my little Kenny!!!! Your not a teenager anymore! I love you so much and am so proud of everything you have accomplished and the person you have become!”
Hadid, Jenner’s fellow model, also dedicated a sweet post to her best friend on Instagram.
“@kendalljenner this isn’t a photo of you, but my first thought when I saw it was that it should be. This would be your happiest place. I hope this year brings you to all the happiest of places. You’re an incredible friend and I love you soooo much,” she wrote. “HAPPY BIRTHDAY WENNY BABY.”
