Keith Urban has proven he can pull off skinny jeans.

Or, at least, he rocked them in the ’80s, as seen in a throwback photo posted on Twitter on Wednesday to celebrate American Idol‘s Totally ’80s-themed evening.

The country star judge, 47, can be seen striking a pose in a flannel button-down shirt – also sporting a mullet – in front of a City of Tamworth sign in Australia.

The special episode on the FOX show features ’80s-only song choices, including Hall & Oates’s “You Make My Dreams Come True.” Judges Urban, Jennifer Lopez, and Harry Connick Jr. will also be joined by David Hasselhoff and a guest mentor, British singer-songwriter Boy George, who is scheduled to perform his hit song “Karma Chameleon.”

Fans will also find out which remaining Season 14 contestants will make the Top 9.
