Looks like a catfight is brewing in Los Angeles!

In a clip from this week’s Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Khloé‘s best friend Malika Haqq tries to justify why she’s involved in Khloé’s relationship with French Montana.

Malika sits down with Khloé and tells her she wants to get past the “awkward phase” they’re currently in, but Khloé is clearly not swayed by the sentiment.

In an interview, Malika explains her motives: “It’s been very difficult for me to watch her engage and break up in relationships, so I’ve become very protective of her,” Malika says, undoubtedly referring to Khloé’s roller-coaster relationships with both French and Lamar Odom.

“I mean the best, and it all comes from a very loving place, so this is hard for me,” Malika adds, about letting a man come between her and Khloé.

Maybe somebody should set up another infamous KUWTK intervention to mend the besties’ relationship.

Keeping Up with the Kardashians airs Sundays (9 p.m. ET) on E!
