Kathy Griffin has gathered the public support of a lengthy list of celebrities in the wake of her abrupt Fashion Police exit.

The comedian, 54, announced she is leaving E!’s fashion commentary series in a detailed statement posted to her Twitter page Thursday, citing that her style of comedy “does not fit with the creative direction of the show.”

Her announcement came only two weeks after her cohost Kelly Osbourne also left her seat on the show, trailing a controversy involving a racially offensive joke made during the show’s Oscars episode.

Griffin also reportedly sent out an email after going live with her statement to undisclosed recipients, asking for support via social media.

“I’m reaching out to you because I think you will understand why I have made this decision and I am asking for your support,” Griffin wrote in the email, which was discovered and posted by BuzzFeed.

“Oh, and I am nervous and scared about this in case you’re wondering,” she added to the Thursday note, which had the subject line “I need you!”

Whether Griffin’s email blast encouraged her A-list supporters to Tweet on her behalf, she received an impressive list of bravos and thumbs-up emojis from the likes of Kelly Osbourne, Whoopi Goldberg, Josh Groban, Lena Dunham, Mindy Kaling and more:

But one fellow television personality wasn’t on board with supporting the comedian’s decision. British journalist Piers Morgan, 49, Tweeted his opinions about Griffin’s abrupt exit, calling the comedian a “hypocrite” for condemning the Fashion Police humor:
