They may have dated for two years, but Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki are just friends now.

The Big Bang Theory costars took to Instagram on Wednesday to shut down rumors that they are back together in the wake of Cuoco’s split from husband Ryan Sweeting.

“So sorry to disappoint, but no home wreckers or secret flings going on here,” Cuoco, 29, wrote as the caption to a photo of the two actors bumping fists and smiling at each other. “Me and @sanctionedjohnnygalecki are just the best of buds – Leonard and Penny will just have to suffice!!!” she added with several heart emojis.

Galecki, 40, posted a slightly different photo of the two with a similar message: “No scandals / home wreckers / pregnancies here, y’all. Just profound friendship.”

Cuoco and Galecki, who star as on-screen couple Penny and Leonard on the hit CBS show, dated for almost two years before splitting in 2010.

“It was a wonderful relationship but we never spoke a word about it and never went anywhere together,” Cuoco told CBS Watch! magazine in 2010. “We were so protective of ourselves and the show and didn’t want anything to ruin that.”

“We couldn’t do anything,” Cuoco added at the time. “It wasn’t as fun as we wanted it to be. Everyone was always asking, and we deny-deny-denied. It took a little bit of a toll on me and I think it did for him, too. Not that I want to go traipsing down a red carpet with anyone, but there’s got to be a happy medium.”

Cuoco got engaged to Sweeting in September 2013, and the two tied the knot that New Year’s Eve.

The actress and her tennis player husband announced their breakup exclusively to PEOPLE on Sept. 25.

The stars’ decision to end their marriage after 21 months was “mutual,” Cuoco’s rep said, adding that they “ask for privacy at this time.”

On Sept. 29, Cuoco filed for divorce from Sweeting, citing irreconcilable differences in court documents obtained by PEOPLE.

Days before announcing their divorce, Cuoco gushed about Sweeting’s relationship with her ex Galecki.

“Johnny’s actually one of my best friends,” Cuoco said on Watch What Happens Live on Sept. 20. “Ryan loves him, Johnny loves him. It’s been a long time, so it’s great. I got lucky. It could have been horrible.”

Galecki split from actress Kelli Garner in August after more than two years together.
