Entertainment TV Why Jimmy Kimmel Owes 'The Bachelorette' 's Kaitlyn Bristowe and Shawn Booth $1,000 The couple made a bet with the late-night host after getting engaged last year By Aurelie Corinthios Published on July 27, 2016 06:55 PM Share Tweet Pin Email Photo: Instagram Eat your words, Jimmy Kimmel! Wednesday marked a special day for Kaitlyn Bristowe and her fiancé Shawn Booth: The official one-year anniversary of the day they went public with their engagement after The Bachelorette finale aired on ABC. The same night the finale aired, the happy couple appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and made a pact to pay the late-night host $1,000 if they broke up within a year. So today, Booth – still happily engaged to Bristowe – took to Instagram to remind Kimmel of the bet, sharing footage of the exact clip. “Look into this camera right here and repeat after me,” Kimmel instructed the couple, having them place their palms on a stack of magazines. “We, Kaitlyn and Shawn B., do solemnly swear that we are in love, that we will get married or we will at least be together one year from today,” the two recited. ” ‘Because if we’re not, this was a huge waste of everyone’s time,’ ” Kimmel went on, feeding them their lines as the two cracked up. “Because if we’re not, this was a huge waste of everybody’s time, including ourselves,” they dutifully repeated. “If we are not still in a committed relationship on July 27, 2016, we will pay Jimmy Kimmel $1,000.” So, Kimmel, what’ll it be? After all, Booth did offer up one option: “Double or nothing?” he captioned his Instagram post. And in the meantime, while not rushing into wedding planning, Booth, 29, and Bristowe, 31, are still very much in love. “I love Shawn more now than the day he proposed,” Bristowe told PEOPLE earlier this year. “That was like a fantasy love. Now it’s real.” As for their much-anticipated nuptials? They’re taking their time. “The pressure doesn’t get to us at all,” said Booth. “We only knew each other for ten weeks before I proposed. We’re both normal people and the most normal thing we can do is wait.” “We’re living together, we’re enjoying being engaged. When we start to plan, we’ll let everybody know!” Bristowe added. Can’t get enough Bachelorette love? Tune in to JoJo Fletcher‘s finale Monday at 8 p.m. ET, followed by the live After the Final Rose special at 10 p.m. ET, both on ABC.
