Justin Bieber may be looking to turn over a new leaf, but that doesn’t mean he won’t have a little fun while doing it.

While visiting The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Thursday, the 20-year-old pop star teamed up with host Ellen DeGeneres to prank their audience by hiding in the women’s bathroom, scaring the bejesus out of, as DeGeneres put it, “some either lucky or unfortunate women.”

All the stalls had “out of order” signs, save for the one in which Bieber and DeGeneres were casually lurking. Reactions ranged from slight shock to full-on “OMG it’s Justin Bieber!!!” freak-outs.

The surprise appearance came on the heels Bieber’s emotional interview with DeGeneres last Wednesday in which he admitted, “I’ve done some things that might not have been the greatest.”

He added: “I just want to be able to, you know, just kind of own up to some of the things.”

Later that day, the singer took to Facebook to elaborate, saying he wants to be “kind and loving and gentle and soft” and move on from his mistakes in recent years.

“I really want people to know how much I care, how much I care about people, and how I’m not that person to say ‘I don’t give a f—.’ You know, I’m not that kid,” he said.

On Thursday, Bieber talked about his Facebook apology, saying that he just wanted to “explain himself” because he feared that he looked “extra nervous” during his last appearance on DeGeneres’s show.
