The Modern Family actress is particularly excited to participate in a few pre-wedding traditions in celebration of her costar, like inappropriate bridal shower and bachelorette party gifts. “I’m going to get her some Kmart underwear from her collection and give it to her on set in a colorful thing and make her open it and hold it up,” Bowen joked to PEOPLE and a handful of media outlets Tuesday at the International Women’s Media Foundation Courage in Journalism Awards. “I’m going to make her wear a penis hat and run around in maybe New Orleans with a hat that says, ‘I’m the bride,’ and we’ll all have matching t-shirts.” Bowen added that she initially wanted to go all out with the penis-themed party ideas, but decided against it when some of Vergara’s friends nixed those plans. When asked whether or not she’s hoping for some Magic Mike-themed dancing for the couple’s first dance – pegged to Manganiello’s proven dance prowess from the films – Bowen seemed conflicted. If the sex swing is involved from Magic Mike XXL, I’m not sure I can watch,” she told PEOPLE. “I feel like that would be too much for a wedding.” But she added that given her knowledge of Vergara’s dancing ability, anything could happen. “I’ve seen her dance and it is Magic Mike-worthy.”The only thing I know is that they’re not doing official wedding photographs. I love that because it says to me, ‘We’re not going to spend a lot of time on the traditional, we’re just going to get to the fun.’ So, first dance, maybe not.”
