Now that she’s an Emmy-winning choreographer, can we count on Julianne Hough to plan a ballroom-worthy waltz with fiancé Brooks Laich on their big day?

“Oh my goodness, he wants more than anything to dance,” Hough, 27, told PEOPLE at the Hallmark Signature Pop-Up Shop at New York Fashion Week on Wednesday.

“He’s always wanted to dance before he ever met me, so he’s always asking me to teach him and I’m like, ‘Ask Derek!’ I’m just pawning my brother off to him,” she added of her Dancing with the Stars pro sibling, laughing. “So I think Derek and Brooks might have a first dance. That would be interesting, and a sight to see for sure.”

The DWTS judge was in Soho to celebrate Hallmark’s stylish greeting cards, and the DIY crafting queen said she’s already “getting all sorts of ideas” about inspiration for her wedding invitations and décor.

Still, she and hockey player Laich, 32, aren’t in full planning mode quite yet after getting engaged in August.

“We’re just kind of enjoying right now,” she explained. “Once we kind of figure out when and where and all that, then I’ll start diving deep with that.”

But her bridal party does already include two special ladies in Hough’s life: Her beloved Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Lexi and Harley.

“They will definitely be running down the aisle at some point,” she said, smiling. “For sure, probably wearing little ribbons and bows, the whole nine yards. I haven’t told Brooks yet, but that’s happening.”

The Hallmark Signature Pop-Up Shop is open in Soho through Saturday.
