Entertainment TV 'RHONY' 's Jules Wainstein Steps Out amid Divorce Drama as Attorney for Husband Michael Says 911 Call Was over False Claims "She's doing this clearly because it's the heart of the Real Housewives of New York City," Michael's attorney tells PEOPLE By People Staff Published on June 17, 2016 03:30 PM Share Tweet Pin Email Trending Videos Photo: Elder Ordonez/INFPhoto Jules Wainstein isn’t letting her divorce bring her down. On Thursday, the Real Housewives of New York City star was spotted leaving the Manhattan apartment she shares with her estranged husband Michael – just hours after calling the police to their home because “she genuinely did not feel safe,” a source told PEOPLE at the time. Jules, 35, appeared to be in good spirits, wearing a coral pink minidress and black pumps to attend a charity event with her friends. She later took to Instagram to share a picture from the evening. Meanwhile, Michael’s attorney Mark Jay Heller is speaking out regarding the incident, telling PEOPLE the cheating allegations are false and that the 911 call was based on fabricated charges. In photos from the scene, an officer can be seen holding a written statement which claims Michael was threatening Jules, saying he was going to ruin her life. Heller alleges Jules had prepared those statements as a false story against her husband. “When they saw that they took it as evidence that she was scripting what she was going to say to her police,” says Heller. “I believe the police were frankly disgusted.” He blames the divorce not on cheating, but on drama. “She’s doing this clearly because it’s the heart of the Real Housewives of New York City and the whole franchise, the whole scenario is built on drama,” says Heller. “She is a wannabe drama queen and Michael doesn’t want to be her foil anymore and he doesn’t want to assume the role of drama king.” On Thursday, a rep for Jules told PEOPLE Jules is focusing on her children, son Jagger, 8, and daughter Rio, 5. “She is taking care of her children and working hard on her brand, Modern Alkeme,” said the rep. “She is a survivor and has many people around her for support.” The Real Housewives of New York City airs Wednesdays (9 p.m. ET) on Bravo.
