"I know I was trying to protect Khloé’s heart," Jordyn Woods said of why she didn't immediately disclose her kiss with Tristan Thompson
During her appearance on Jada Pinkett Smith‘s Facebook Watch talk show, Red Table Talk, on Friday, the 21-year-old model — who admitted to kissing Thompson after a party last two weeks ago but denied sleeping with him — said she could have been more honest with Kardashian from the beginning.
“I had talked to Kylie [Jenner] and Khloé in the morning and I told them I was there. I had talked to Khloé and she asked me what was going on, was everything fine? And in my head of trying to forget that part of the story, I was like, ‘You know, no he was chilling, everything was okay. There were girls there but he wasn’t all over the girls,’” she said.
“I was honest about being there, but I wasn’t honest about the actions that had taken place,” she added.
Asked by Pinkett Smith if she was trying to save Kardashian’s relationship with her then-boyfriend, Woods claimed to be “trying to protect Khloé’s heart.”
“I just knew how much turmoil was going on, I was like, let me not just throw more fuel on the fire,” she said. “I know I was trying to protect Khloé’s heart. She doesn’t deserve this either.”
“People have dehumanized her in this situation to where they can’t feel for her. And it’s not fair that she has to deal with that either. And the last thing I wanted to do was be that person,” she added. “I’m no homewrecker. I would never try to hurt someone’s home. Especially someone that I love. And someone who has a beautiful daughter. I would never try to steal someone’s man. I don’t need your situation. I really just hurt so many people by not telling the truth.”
Asked whether Woods felt like she was the reason why Kardashian and Thompson split, the model insisted that wasn’t the case.
“I know I am not the reason that Tristan and Khloé are not together,” she said. “Now this situation may have made it harder for her to want to be with him, and I understand that, but I know I’m not the reason.”
Still, she said she’s “not here to play the victim.”
“I didn’t tell the truth to the people that I loved,” she said. “Not because of malicious intent, but because I was just scared.
However, Kardashian immediately slam Woods’ interview, claiming that the model wasn’t telling the truth.
“Why are you lying @jordynwoods ?? If you’re going to try and save yourself by going public, INSTEAD OF CALLING ME PRIVATELY TO APOLOGIZE FIRST, at least be HONEST about your story. BTW, You ARE the reason my family broke up!” she tweeted.
Minutes later she explained why she was only calling out Woods.
“Tristan is equally to blame but Tristan is the father of my child. Regardless of what he does to me I won’t do that to my daughter. He has been addressing this situation PRIVATELY,” she wrote. ”If Tristan were to lie publicly about what conspired, then yes I would address him publicly as well.”
A source previously told PEOPLE that the Kardashians were “pissed” that Woods — who has moved out of Jenner’s house — might try to make amends on the show. According to the source, Woods signed an “ironclad NDA” with the family. (A representative for Woods did not comment when contacted by PEOPLE.)
“She can’t talk about the family, so it’s unclear what she’s going to be able to say to Jada,” the source said. “She can apologize but can’t talk about anything really beyond that in terms of the family.”
The source added that “the Kardashians are feeling 100 percent done with Jordyn.”
Thompson, 27, was first caught allegedly cheating on Kardashian, 34, last April when photos and videos surfaced of him getting close to other women just days before she gave birth to their daughter True. Though she initially forgave him, they had been living apart since the fall, and a source told PEOPLE last week that things “never really went back to normal” between the couple.
